Before the invention of twitter and Louis Walsh and pork pies, Stone Age man was already enjoying chewing gum. The oldest piece of gum ever found is over 9000 years old (discovered in Sweden in 1993).The well-chewed blob of honey-sweetened birch resin contained the tooth marks of a teenage hunter-gatherer.
Also found at the site were axes, camp dog droppings and the bones of a small beluga whale. Teenagers eh.
