Tooth wisdom

George Washington and his famous wooden teeth

Our Mike is full of useless information and whether we like it or not is always sharing snippets of his ‘wisdom’ with us. Today we learnt that George Washington had wooden teeth. Thanks Mike.

Anyway the subject came up because it’s National Smile Month. This is the time when the good people at the British Dental Health Foundation remind us that we should be looking after our gnashers in the hope that we’ll end up looking a bit more like Cheryl Cole and a bit less like George ‘mahogany fronts’ Washington.

They offer three very sound pieces of advice for this special month and beyond…

1) Brush your teeth twice a day (with fluoride toothpaste apparently)
2) Cut down on sugary food and drink
3) Visit your dentist regularly (about once a year)

So we urge you to do all of the above. And by complete coincidence the British Dental Health Foundation also accredit our gum (for reducing plaque and the risk of tooth decay) so if you’re chewing Peppersmith on top of the above you get extra brownie points.

Have a nice weekend, enjoy the sunshine and keep those pearly whites clean.
