We ‘re currently looking for a Head of Sales.
This person will head up our sales function and establishing our confectionery ranges across multiple channels. This means the right person will be able to handle the demands of the grocery accounts, get the most out of foodservice customers and also respond to the needs of the thousands of independent stores who stock their products.
2012 is going to be a big year as we expand their ranges and stocking points.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Working directly with the founders to establish the sales strategy and growth plan and then lead on its execution
- Leading the charge in acquiring new distribution and increase stocking points. Peppersmith is a multi-channel business so needs a plan that spans grocery, convenience, speciality and national wholesalers and contract catering.
- Management of all new and existing UK accounts ensuring industry leading standards of quality, service and attention to customer needs. There is already a wide spread of customers including Waitrose, Sainsburys, Holland & Barrett, Whole Foods Market, SSP and thousands of independents so you must both like being busy and also be able to prioritise and focus.
- Building brand support is key to growth and you will be expected to lead trade marketing programmes and promotions to drive penetration and rate of sale.
- New product introductions into customers including price and support negotiations.
- Managing the field sales team and junior account managers.

Key Skills and Experience essential for this role include:
- At least 4-6 years in the FMCG food and drink industry in a sales role.
- National Account Management of a Grocery customer
- Knowledge and experience of other channels including Foodservice and Speciality Wholesale
- Track record of leadership and people management
- P&L responsibility
- Strategic planning
- Evidence of entrepreneurial spirit
- Degree Level Education (2:1 minimum)
