Tooth wisdom

21 May 2010

George Washington and his famous wooden teeth

Our Mike is full of useless information and whether we like it or not is always sharing snippets of his ‘wisdom’ with us. Today we learnt that George Washington had wooden teeth. Thanks Mike.

Anyway the subject came up because it’s National Smile Month. This is the time when the good people at the British Dental Health Foundation remind us that we should be looking after our gnashers in the hope that we’ll end up looking a bit more like Cheryl Cole and a bit less like George ‘mahogany fronts’ Washington.

They offer three very sound pieces of advice for this special month and beyond…

1) Brush your teeth twice a day (with fluoride toothpaste apparently)
2) Cut down on sugary food and drink
3) Visit your dentist regularly (about once a year)

So we urge you to do all of the above. And by complete coincidence the British Dental Health Foundation also accredit our gum (for reducing plaque and the risk of tooth decay) so if you’re chewing Peppersmith on top of the above you get extra brownie points.

Have a nice weekend, enjoy the sunshine and keep those pearly whites clean.

Election-free news

7 May 2010

We’ve decided to spare you yet more election themed stuff so here’s this week’s news with not a single mention of it (except that one).

First up we just found out that from today Peppersmith will be on sale in the Camden food co. stores in Victoria and Euston stations. If you’re around and have a few minutes to spare before your train, please pop in, get some chemical-free gum and say hello our to our NBF Nitish (photographed below with his winning smile).

We also have some winners to announce. Congratulations to those that correctly identified comedian, Hammersmith resident and general all-round nice guy Bill Bailey as being in the middle of the line-up below. Katie, Jakob, Jemma, Stu and Daniel all won some gum. We’ll get in touch soon to find out where you want us to send it. Bonus points to Stu for suggesting they were all Bill Bailey at different stages of his career.

And finally we’d like to say a big thank you to Nigel, Eve, Freya, Honor and Sacha. They became our first visitors to Peppersmith HQ. If we’d had a bit of warning we would’ve got Mike to dress up as an oompaloompa or something but as it was we hope they enjoyed themselves and we were certainly very grateful for them popping by.

That’s all. Have a nice weekend.
